Creole Empanadas
Ingredients
½ kilogram of Ground meat
1 Green bell pepper
1 Red bell pepper
3 Hard-boiled eggs
Olives
1 Onion
1 pinch of Salt
1 pinch of Oregano
1 pinch of Pepper
20 Empanada shells
Oil for frying
Preparation
Step 1 : The bell peppers are cut into small cubes and the onion is peeled and finely chopped.
Step 2 : Next, both ingredients are sautéed in a tablespoon of hot oil.
Step 3 : Then, the ground meat is added and stirred to combine with the onion and peppers, cooking everything until the meat is done.
Step 4 : Meanwhile, the eggs are chopped and the olives are diced.
Step 5 : Once the meat is cooked, add the sautéed ingredients, mix, and season with salt, pepper, and oregano, then remove from heat.
Step 6 : On a tray, place the empanada shells and fill them with the prepared mixture in the center.
Step 7 : Then, seal the edges with the tines of a fork.
Step 8 : In a skillet with hot oil, fry the empanadas until golden.
Step 9 : Once fried, place them on paper towels to remove excess grease.
